It’s a two-fer Wednesday! I’m actually just catching up on blogging our most recent weddings, so here’s our New Year’s Eve wedding, finally! We were pumped about this wedding from the moment we sat down with Shannon and David and they told us it was on New Year’s Eve. There was an immediate rapport between us, and we were honored to be apart of their day! It was by far the longest wedding we’ve shot to date, as we stayed up until the strike of the New Year to get some photos from that very cool moment. Check out some of my favorites below!

Aiello Wedding

Lydia contacted us early in 2009, distraught over trying to find a photographer who would be willing to shoot her wedding, knowing that it was a night wedding, and they wanted pictures outdoors. I was shocked to learn that she had been turned down by a number of area photographers, citing that it would be “too difficult to shoot in the evening.” Gregg and I gladly accepted the challenge, and we spent the next few months honing our off-camera lighting techniques. Overall, this was by far and away the most challenging wedding we’ve shot, even the ceremony was exceptionally dark as it was lit mostly by candlelight. Nevertheless, we had a great time, and are very pleased with how the images came out. This wedding has a soft spot in my heart, as it was the last wedding I shot as a resident of Toledo. Literally seconds after the garter toss I hopped in the car with my wife and drove to New Mexico. I apologize for the delay in getting these posted (like three months!), but what can you do =). Enjoy some of my favorites from the wedding! (ps – I left a clue in here with another reason why it was one of my favorite weddings of 2009…)

Ever since LGP was formed, we’ve been committed to donating 10% of ALL our income to a non-profit we passionately believe in. She Dances is an organization dedicated to seeing freedom come in the lives of girls who have been bought, traded, and sexually exploited. Slavery is alive and well in the world today, and even more heartbreaking, sexual slavery is a big part of that. This is simply unacceptable to me, and therefore from time to time, in addition to the money we already send to She Dances, you’ll see us promote She Dances.. in hopes that you too may get involved in fixing one of the world’s biggest atrocities. We are truly honored to partner with She Dances in this all-important cause, and LGP is excited to continue working with She Dances in the future, in even bigger and better ways. Please, take a few minutes out of your busy day today, and watch this video. If you at all feel convicted to get involved, please visit the She Dances website and give whatever you feel lead to give. Buy a t-shirt, a sticker, talk about it on your blog/facebook… whatever. Just do something =)

Natasha // Just for Fun

Natasha contacted us a while back when we did a photo shoot for a friend of hers. We exchanged some emails, which started with a simple comment from her, referring to her friend: “I love her eyes in this photo! I wonder what you could do with mine?” Well we decided to find out when we hit the streets of downtown Toledo. Natasha was excellent to work with, and we really are stoked about how the photos turned out. Here are just a few of our favorites:

I’ve been friends with Jeff and his family for years, and when he asked me to do some family photos I was more than a little honored. Jeff is a gifted artist in his own right, both when it comes to music and photography. So when we headed out to do the photos, I was a little nervous but quickly got over it. The kids were a blast, and the whole shoot was a lot of fun for me. Here are just a few of my favorites!

The morning we met up with Katy, Ashley, Monica and Alyssa was fraught with peril. It took us a while to find a suitable location to shoot, and the weather was just not in the mood to cooperate. We finally caught a break in the rain and found ourselves in a pretty rad park near Toledo Hospital. The girls were hilarious to work with, and Gregg and I had a great time. Here are just a few of our favorites from the shoot, see the last picture for a pretty accurate look into the family dynamic =)

Mary & Phil

Well this was a fun shoot! Mary is an extremely talented photographer in the Toledo-area, so when we got a request to do some couples shots of her and her husband Phil, we were honored to say the least. Probably a little nervous as well! I’ve had the pleasure of working a wedding with Mary before, and she’s a rockstar, so we wanted to make sure we brought the thunder to this shoot! Phil and Mary both were exceptionally easy to work with, and we truly had a great time working with them. Here are just some of our favorites from their shoot!

Ashley & Jimmy // Engagement Session

When we first met Ashley and Jimmy six months ago for a wedding consultation, we knew right away that these two would be a blast to work with. We knew this before we even knew that shooting their wedding would entail a seven day cruise of the Caribbean — I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, our job does not suck. So Ashley got a hold of us last week and we finally got an engagement session scheduled. Thanks to the both of them for getting up crazy early to drive down to Toledo (they’re from Detroit) for a 9am shoot on Saturday morning! These two just ooze awesome, and these are just a few of our favorites from this incredibly rad session.
